Apollo 3arabi

Boredom is good, it makes you think of things, weird good things, that you would not think of when you are not normally bored.
As I’m not yet enjoying this warm Wednesday and still crying my eyes out waiting for winter time, I was thinking of taking a good shower, shave and go for an iPod walk that will eventually end up in some cafe having a nice hot Mocha and reading the overtly detailed novel “61 hours”, or maybe scratch and scribble even more, but what bugs me sometimes (that I used to find it cute, not anymore) the cafe workers would come and gather around me when I draw which would block my light and I really dislike it when people stand over my shoulder when I am enjoying doing something.
Anyway, before taking that walk, I was looking at a photo of Apollo I snapped in the Jordanian Museum of Archeology last week, which is located on top of the Citadel mountain, great small museum, I liked it, but it looks like a stupid shop, I guess you can easily grab things and go out, it does not seem like they have any security systems or anything like that, but the point is, the museum has nice things inside (check it out if you are in Amman or visiting, just drive from Downtown up to the citadel mountain and enjoy a nice day there, bring your own water, you do not want to buy over-priced warm water anyway).
I found Apollo there! and Zues, like not the best versions of them, but still good ones.
So here I am, vandalizing Apollo’s sweet image, but adding an Arab touch to it.

What would your eyes say?
What would mine say? … Can you tell? is it clear? or do we really have to put words, pretty words, for everything we say?

Warriors – Pencil and Ink

It’s been a while and I needed to exercise (and I really hate GYMs anyway, so thankfully there’s art in life)…

Pencil

Pencil time = fun time, to create the outlines, the positions, the shades and to give yourself an idea where the ink will fall, I hate to think of pencil as a bible to the final drawing, it only functions as a guideline.
Used 2 Pencils, a hard Pelkan 2B for the contour and shape and a soft Conte 2B for shade and details.

Ink

Inking time is the good time, Inking is not only tracing the pencil lines but also filling in the spaces, surely you could save time using photoshop (and I love doing that using Wacom tablets) but using different ink pens help you understand the dramatization of the characters.
Starting to color on Photoshop now.

Sorry for the silence all last week, I’ve been on vacation enjoying the great company of friends and not very amused by the weird weather, but I will be back on the Blog this week hopefully.

It’s weird that I did not use the computer so much last week, it’s like detoxing and it’s good! but you know me better, I can not keep my fingers off a keyboard and as Terminator said “I will be back” :)

I’ve been bored out of my head of my games collection, I would not even want to switch my Xbox360, PS2, PSP or DS for any new game because they all sounded like anything but fun, so I went on to enjoy a blast from the past re-playing the amazing Final Fantasy VIII emulated on PC (although there is a PC version, but on PS emulation you can control the graphics more the way you want), I’m also enjoying some ME time re-visiting another Final Fantasy title in the bathroom, Crisis Core, which I still find it to be a great game and have a fantastic re-playability value.
