Fairuz is considered a true romantic symbol in Arabic music, she has a great sensational feeling in her voice, she did her great songs from 1960s to the 1980s then released a jazzy album with her son, she is still alive but does not really perform much, she is getting older and trying to keep her appearance more sacred amidst the storm of commercialism we live in.

FB Picks
I love the web! it has everything you need from tutorials on how to blink your eyes to political articles that I struggle so much to understand the complicated terminologies in them! but my Facebook is better, it’s the act of micro-blogging for people who do not want to be seriosuly dedicated to a Blog (many people do not like the attention or they simply do not like to write, maybe both).
So I decided to do a post once a week on the best picks on my FB profile, which means I will be stealing your photos and videos and re-post them here once a week. Cool, eh?

“Fire Tornado”
Associated Press: In Hawaii, a terrifying combination of strong winds and brush fires created this “fire tornado.” State officials captured this video last week of a fire caught up in a swirling twister on the Big Island. (Aug. 27)
It is both beautiful and terrifying to watch this big fire tornado!

Tube Gift
I love everything about Gene Kelly, he is a fun spirit to watch, just to follow his dancing steps make you want to jump off your chair and start tapping off the floor, he makes it seem awfully easy, while the truth is it took him lots of time to do his choreography for himself and his co-dancers in the films he did.

Modern Reading Habits
Amman Streets at night…
So as posted before about my new Sony Bloggie, I’m now excited to try all kinds of different things with it, this small project was shot in 30 minutes driving around the streets of Amman then edited to be fast and added one of my favorite songs (Telepopmusik – Breathe).
The choice of the song is metaphorical, as I believe that we – in Amman – need to breathe a little, life is getting its pressure on us, prices are raising everyday a little bit more, no jobs, and certainly the general attitude is becoming more aggressive and disturbingly annoying, so it is a small message for everyone to try to “breathe” whenever they can.

Palestine on Second Life!
Description:
First of all, sorry for the voice, I was just feeling tired!
I’ve been curious to download and start a “new” me on the infamously famous Second Life MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Game), I would say it is utterly rubbish and too boring to be classified as a game but I do understand people playing it to make money out of it, but really, just go out and do something instead of playing your “second” self. (it’s really good for people who do not like their first life).
My notion is about a small piece of land (island) that features Palestine! loads of flags and images scattered around the island with supporting media of songs and even videos to showcase some of what our nation struggles through everyday, it even shows images of the flotilla attacks. (and many Ardogan photos).
I find it very interesting that people do not only use Second Life as an advertising platform, they also do use it as a supporting platform for their causes and as this MMO hosts more than 300,000 users everyday, especially the young ones, it is a great media to start catching the attention of the ignorant ones.
Sadly, the Arab world is still struggling not with the Palestinian cause alone but with its naive use of the media, my feeling that we are still so much behind of reaching out effectively on web 2.0, we need more bloggers, vloggers and entrepreneurs who would go out there on the web (and Games for that case) and inform the people of what’s really going on.
Note: The song at the end is “Blue Flame” by Simon Shaheen & Qantara. (Thanks to Noor for providing me with such great music)

Super Vintage!
- First appearance of JSA (Justice Society of America)
I love vintage art, especially when it comes to comics, so I selected few images from the book “The Golden Age of DC Comics 365 Days”.
Find it on Amazon, 740 pages of endless fun (and a heavy coffee table book as well: 4.4 pounds! you can hurt someone with it).
Fun Monday with Photoshop CS5
Digital painting just got better!
That is what I think about when I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64-bit version on Windows 7), The new Photoshop is friendlier than any earlier version, although the spaces and docks has the same CS4 feeling.

Blog, Vlog and Too Smokin’ Hot!
Catching up with the web 2.0 you can not just live in total oblivion being the mass audience, sometimes you need to put your input, add up, and let the world know what you are thinking hence blogging.
Still, people find it easier for the topic to be visual, that’s why most people do not read the book but wait for its film release (which always comes out terrible).
